이거 우리집 두고서 여기서 얘기하게 되네요. ㅎㅎㅎ, 스키드님에게 질문을 했지만 우선 저의 생각부터 올려 보겠습니다. 우선 Formation Integrity 말은 이렇게 한문장이 나오네요. Chapter Three - Formation 시작부분에 "The integrity of a formation can only be maintained when the leader has complete knowledge and control of the actions of each flight member"
하지만 Flight integrity라는 말은 각각의 대형 설명중에서 다음과 같이 사용되어지고 있군요. Fightin Wing에서 "The formation allows the element to maintain flight integrity under marginal weather conditions or in rough terrain." Four-ship Wedge에서 "The formation permits four aircraft to maintain flight integrity under marginal weather or extremely rugged terrain conditions."
위의 글들을 곰곰히 다시 생각해보면 그리고 제가 해석해 보면, Formation은 그 자체가 목적이 아니라 Flight integrity을 유지하고 달성하게끔 해주는 수단(도구)인 것 입니다. 그리고 Formation이 깨졌다면 즉, Flight integrity 유지하기 위한 수단이 상실되었다면 Flight integrity 또한 깨졌다고 보여지네요. - 말만 괜히 어렵네요. 4기대형의 편대에서 걍 4기대형깨지면 편대보전도 걍 깨진거다.. 그렇게 저는 해석되어 지네요. (뒤에서 설명하겠지만 또 다른 표현을 해 보면, 2기 대형의 분대에서 2기 대형깨지면 분대보전도 깨진것이다.)
스타터님의 "편대원들이 분리"라는 말의 범위가 어느 정도 인지는 모르겟지만, 우선 쉬운것 부터 언급해보면 당연히 아는 얘기지만 MCH의 4기대형 시작 부분에 "The four-ship is under control of one flight lead and is employed as a single entity until such time as it is forced to separate into two elements." 이것은 4기대형의 정의 및 지휘/통솔이 어떻게 이루어진다를 표현한 문장이겠죠. 뒤쪽의 구에 있는 2개 분대가 분리 될 경우는 그냥 element integrity 말을 사용하는 듯 합니다. element 단위에서도 formation 이라는 수단을 통해 element integrity를 보전하는 것 입니다. 그럼 편대가 각 분대별로 (상당한 거리)분리되어 있을때 그리고 한편으론 element integrity가 유지 되고 있다고 할때 Flight integrity가 달성된 것이냐? -- Flight 즉, 4기 대형을 유지하기 위한 formation이 상실되었으므로 Flight integrity가 유지되고 있다고 보기는 문자적으로 어려울 것 같고, element integrity가 유지되고 있는 2개 분대 즉, 2개의 entity가 결합한 것으로 보여지네요.
